Biscuit walked past two dogs today at 15 feet without lunging ā huge progress! Jenna did a perfect auto-U-turn when a third dog surprised them. Recovery time after arousal is down to about 30 seconds.
Threshold distance improved from 40 feet (baseline) to 12-15 feet for calm dogs. Still needs 25+ feet for dogs that are barking or lunging. Treat engagement is now consistent below threshold.
Switched from kibble to freeze-dried liver for counter-conditioning ā much faster engagement. Added a morning sniff walk (20 min) to lower baseline arousal before training walks.
Jenna reports Biscuit is voluntarily looking at her when dogs appear on the horizon ā the auto-check-in is becoming habitual. Excellent sign that the emotional response is shifting.
