Start your morning with these simple yet powerful poses that will wake up your body and set a positive tone for the day ahead.

Why Morning Yoga?

Starting your day with yoga is one of the most powerful habits you can develop. It wakes up your body gently, improves circulation, and sets a mindful tone for everything that follows. Even just 10 minutes can make a noticeable difference in how you feel throughout the day.

1. Cat-Cow Stretch (Marjaryasana-Bitilakasana)

Begin on all fours with your wrists under your shoulders and knees under your hips. Inhale as you arch your back (cow), then exhale as you round your spine (cat). Repeat 5-8 times to warm up your spine and release tension from sleep.

2. Downward Facing Dog (Adho Mukha Svanasana)

From all fours, tuck your toes and lift your hips up and back. Press your hands firmly into the mat and let your head hang naturally. Pedal your feet to stretch your calves. Hold for 5 breaths.

3. Standing Forward Fold (Uttanasana)

Walk your feet to your hands and fold forward. Let your upper body hang heavy. Bend your knees slightly if needed. This pose releases tension in the hamstrings and lower back while calming the mind.

4. Warrior I (Virabhadrasana I)

Step your right foot back into a lunge. Raise your arms overhead and square your hips forward. This pose builds strength and confidence while opening the hip flexors. Hold for 5 breaths on each side.

5. Tree Pose (Vrksasana)

Stand tall and place one foot on your inner thigh or calf (never the knee). Bring your hands to heart center or overhead. This balance pose improves focus and is a wonderful way to find your center before the day begins.
