Explore the healing power of restorative yoga and why slowing down can be the most transformative practice of all.

What is Restorative Yoga?

Restorative yoga uses props to support the body in passive poses held for 5-20 minutes. Unlike active yoga styles, the goal is complete relaxation. The body is fully supported so muscles can release deeply, activating the parasympathetic nervous system.

Key Benefits

Regular restorative practice has been shown to lower blood pressure, reduce chronic pain, improve sleep quality, decrease anxiety, and boost immune function. It's particularly beneficial for people dealing with burnout, chronic stress, or recovering from injury.

Getting Started

Start with just one or two restorative poses at the end of your regular practice. Supported child's pose and legs-up-the-wall are great entry points. As you become comfortable with stillness, try a full restorative class.
